Over The Rainbow- Easter Hunt

I am SO late on getting this out! Sorries!

There are some really great gifts involved. Some items are directly for Kittycats (beds, pedigree givers, accessories for your kitty) Some just have an Easter theme (egg tree, decor), some of are fun random items for you and your home! Well to be precise, [Blossom] has re-opened it's door at the Over The Rainbow Market!

Oh my gosh , you guys, so exciting!

First off let me tell you a little about [Blossom]. For those of you new to things I opened [Blossom] a few years ago. Due to some RL changes and my mainstore sim being closed, [Blossom] shut down in July of 2013. At the time I wasn't sure if or when I would be able to open again.

This past week has been a whirl wind of excitement, chaos and well stuff I don't need to air in public!

Thanks to my amazing family on Cali, I was given the opportunity to re-open my store. I've got tons of mesh and scultped clothing and shoes.

To celebrate our re-opening I have created a brand new dress for you all! There are 6 great options, each at a low price of 100L!

You will Find 3 basic color options and 3 floral top options! I really hope you enjoy!!

You will also find a brand new group gift in store as well as many older group gifts/freebies out for you too!!

My family has done something pretty cool. In fact they took a life long dream of mine and started making it a reality.

Over The Rainbow Market!

Over the Rainbow Market is a full service family friendly sim. You can look forward to a kitty/animal market place with seceral different sized stalls and stores to meet everyones needs.

There is also a Lovers Lane for Kittycats! Have you got a cat looking for a mate, or perhaps just too many cats to hold on to? Renters, you can sell your live and loveable cats on the cute little mushroom garden. Lovers lane is located in the enchanting Fairy forest. There are hidden snuggle spots for those romantic (but G rated) outings.

If you are like me, gachas can really break the bank sometimes! Be sure to check out the Over the Rainbow Yard Sale and kiddo playground! There are current stalls for rent as well as some items already set about from the most recent Arcade and Woodland creatures gacha events! Grab a stall and start selling!!

My SL Family Blogger Challenge

Ya'll so many crazy things have happened lately! But let's not look on the past- it's family blogger challenge time!

1. What is your SL family surname?

Bracken

2. What is the make-up of your family? (Parents, kids, siblings etc)

Ohh My... Mama Gator, Daddy Gator. Grammy,Grampykins, Uncle Trav & The Twinsies. Graunties Cher & Isa, Guncle Chris. God Mama Stari, a bagillion Aunties! They just keep coming out of the woodwork I tell ya!

3. How long have you been in the SL family community?

I've really only been around a few months recently but i dabbled in being the adult parent years ago too.

4. When did you first hear about the SL family community and what was your view on it before you were in it?

I first started hearing about the SL family back in late 2008 early 2009. At the time I had some really mixed feelings. I thought kids were creepy and constant baby talkers. Clearly my tune has changed!

5. How did you join your (first) SL family?

I went to one of those adoption agencies. I had about zero clue who or what I wanted at the time. It happened pretty fast.

6. Do you have a kid avatar?

Yep! My kid avi is now prettty much my main avi.

7. Do you have an adult avatar?

Ayup! I've got a few haha that I use from time to time!

8. When did you first decide to make a child avatar?

I debated this for a while. I tried a teen avatar first, as that was what the first family was looking for. Then after being around a LOT of kids I decided I wanted to try it. I was told I had to choose one or the other because being both was "weird". To my surprise I had become more comfortable as a kiddo

9. Why do you play a child avatar?

It is so much fun! And one of the things I like is getting outside of my comfort zone. One thing I do as a kid that I often felt hesitant to do, is talk to random people. People are always saying hello and chatting with me. It's a neat thing. Plus it's SO much easier to snuggle with mama and daddy

10. What do you like about being a parent in SL?

Imma kid! I tried the parent thing a long time ago and it freaked me out a little because I felt more like the kid haha

11. Do you do family roleplay? If so, what kind of roleplay? Paragraphs, emoting – or just “acting like”?

I would say we do light role play. Mainly "acting like". We have family time, school and play dates with the twinsies. I think it depends on the mood every one is in.

12. Do you have any special family-related activities? (Dinners, camp etc.)

One of the first things that thrilled me about my family is the activities. We are always going on adventures! They love parks, playgrounds, kitty auctions and all sorts of things. When we made things official they even threw me a surprise rez day party! I'm enrolled in a school that someone in the family takes me to when I have classes. I'm looking forward to being a flower girl in a wedding next month AND going on a family vacation this week! Oh and I take ballet!

13. What is the thing you love most about your SL family?

I love how easy they made my transition feel. I was having a really down time and there was Mama just waiting to scoop me up! We just get each other. I was worried about entering into another established family, but my Unkie Trav McCooties really blew those fears out of the water. He sealed the deal with his eagerness to accept me, sight unseen. I just love them

Feeling cute tonight. Thought I'd give a share. The glasses are something from circa 2009 haha. Some things are just too cute to get rid of.

On another note, I saw something today that really kind of upset me. Back in late 2011 I began working on what would soon be known as [Blossom]. I still remember driving to take these classes my husband and I were taking at the time (for something unrelated in RL) and I suddenly announced that I has spent the past few months creating and I finally felt big enough to showcase it. In the beginning of 2012 I opened my store. At the time I was flying by the seat of my pants and looking for more than one location. I saw a group IM in a stores group about someone opening a mall area. I inquired and was pursued to open. I paid for a month figuring I would see what happened. Not even halfway through my trial period, the sim was suddenly and abruptly closed. I was given my money back after I inquired about my loss of money. My stuff was returned and I never really heard much after that. A few times along the way I saw this person making other stores and setups.
I recently have received a few IMs on blogging my items which is rather interesting as my store has been in-world closed (except for Shop Free*Style and Marketplace). I've been taking Blender classes to start making my own things and hopefully re-open or re-brand.
(Picture embarrassingly newb things like a table and chair, or the "Tiffany" styled lamp that Suddenly looked like a butt plug when posted in front of all the class. EEk)
 But that hasn't happened yet. After a while I realized someone else was using the Blossom name. This happens all the time in SL and RL , so I shouldn't be surprised. But what did surprise me was the owner of the store. Remember that store I mentioned above. Color me shocked when that same owner was now re-branding as Blossom. I have no idea for how long, but for some reason it just felt wrong to me.I don't know, maybe I'm touchy but it seems odd to me that someone from my past, especially another designer would suddenly be blowing up all over using a name I had chosen nearly 3 years ago..Especially someone who was running under a different brand...also super similar to another store...

What else is new in Khloe Land....

I guess you could say I'm back. Probably not much to blogging except to post updates on my Blender skills, or lack there of... and to show occasional cute things!

Halloween Things I forgot About :(

I swear if my head wasn't firmly attached...

Anyway..

I forgot to tell ya'll that I made some Fall and Halloween things at the Shop Free*Style!

On the first floor I have a special edition Wrap Dress

It only costs :25L

I've also placed out a pair of the Vixen over the knee boots

You'll notice these only cost 1L.

I did this because of the extra bit of Gacha I placed upstairs. The boots are a compliment to my Halloween Sweater Dresses.

This is a Gacha item that only costs 25L each turn. There are 6 dresses in all.

It's a MEME kinda Day

I love Halloween normally so I have resurrected myself to do Berry's most recent Monday Meme! Woot.

This is Khloe as 'Bitchy Witchy'. I wanted a certain look and I feel like i've just fallen a little flat. I wanted this whole grotesque witch hybrid. I had a hard time finding the pieces... so this is how it ended up! Is 'ok'.

Also I'm entered in a Halloween Photo contest at Serenity Heaven, if you ya know.. wanna vote for me...Hellloooo shameless plugging.

(Actually on a normal day I would NEVER prompt people to do this, heck I never join contests in general. But I found myself annoyed by this particular place because the top person isn't even following the rules and the number 2 person is someone who lives on the sim and is like bff with the owner. Seems fishy so I shoved myself on in there. Votes are 1L  and end Oct 31so. Yeah)

Anyway!!! The stuffs!

1. Did you go trick or treating as a child? Yes, I did. I went for quite a while, no matter what the weather threw at us.
2. What was the best Halloween costume you ever saw or wore yourself? Actually I'm saving this answer for below... ha..
3. What is your most vivid memory about Halloween? When I was a little tot I really wanted to be a princess, but I wanted my Mom to MAKE my a princess costume. I didn't want to be like everyone else. My Mom didn't sew at all so she made it using staples and hot glue. We lived in FL and she followed me around the whole night with a stapler because my outfit kept melting a falling apart... ha <3
4. What is the scariest movie you have ever seen? I really hate scary movies but I especially hate anything with possession. This stems from a super vivid dream I had as a child where I swore that a man I viewed as "the devil" was trying to get me to open my mind to him. SO when it came time for things like 'The Exorcist' I pretty much wanted to die inside.
5. Do you ever get nightmares after watching a scary movie? Uhm, yeah.. see above haha.
6. Are you superstitious? If so, name at least one superstition of yours. Not really, I figured if I thought about every superstition out there I would have enough bad luck for 3 life times.
7. What will you be doing for Halloween this year, if anything, in SL and RL? I will probably be laying in my bed like I am now. I threw my back out sooo I suck. And my bday is Saturday, so I'm totally bummed to be missing all the fun stuff, Halloween is my jam usually :( In SL I'll be waiting to see if I've won! muahahaha

What's the right answer?

I'm going to rant a moment, so if you don't want to see it, feel free to disregard after the LM Link below :) 

SO As you've probably seem, I'm closing [Blossom]. This wasn't really a shock to me as I'd been holding off doing so for a while. My heart isn't in it any more. When I heard the sim was closing, it all seemed like the right time.

I've been offering a massive sale on new things, old thing, Holiday wear, gatchas, gifts, freebies and more. In short- I pretty much feel like I'm holding my own estate sale. It's the death of [Blossom] and I'm totally cool with that.

As you can see by the sign, everything is 25L or less. This extends to everything I have- new, old, mesh, sculpty- whatever. It seems fair. For complicated Items I offer demos. At this point I consider myself selling "As Is". Most things are no transfer and I offer the best that I can, but at this late date it is what it is, ya dig?

So I was a little surprised when  I received a NC this evening. I recieved a note from a girl who was complaining on the size of a mesh object she purchased. She claimed I should have been more forthcoming on the fact that I did not offer xxs-xl sizes. Let's be honest, first off, I use mesh templates. I couldn't create my was out of a paper bag when it comes to creating my own mesh. That being said, I offered a smaller option and a larger option. I'm not the creator of the mesh, so there's not much more I can do. 

I was especially upset because I felt like she was attacking me personally and basically saying I scammed her. Her accusation that I did not specify is false for two reasons. One: it does indeed say that the boots only come in 2 sizes, right on the vendor. Two: I offered a demo on this. It's a free demo, take the 5 seconds to purchase a demo and try it before you buy it.

In the end she wanted a refund or for me to come up with more boots sizes. Like I said, this is the end for me. It's as is, that's it! Also, she didn't even bother to send a transaction history. She harped on me but didn't even do that simple thing. I've had huge amounts of sales in the past 3 days alone. I couldn't find her transaction at all.

What's the right answer here? My first inclination was to be all apologetic and whatnot. Then I reread the message a few times and my blood started to boil. I sent her a message back responding to all points, including my no refunds policy. It's in my store info picks...twice.

 Take the time to get your facts straight before you jump on my back. I did end up refunding her because I am indeed a sucker. I still have no idea if she actually purchased anything from me at all. She tried to act like she was doing me a favor. It was 25L- on one hand I wanted to be like really? All this for so little? Grow up, on the other hand I felt like I could say the same to myself. 

Ahh the trivial things we have to deal with as shoppers, designers and bloggers!
