I've been a bad bad blogger I knooow. I'm sorry. Due to unforseen circumstances we are forced to be moving across many states tomorrow. That said I've been a little bit of a scatter brained which leaves you faithful readers being forgotten for a bit.

I'll make it up to you, I promise!

In the mean time I've got a few things going on regarding [Blossom]

1. We have a group now! For the time being until i decide to be evil, it will be free to join and will offer updates, releases and exclusive gifties!! You can join : [Blossom]

Secret , of course!

One of the questions people seem to always ask is if I'm married in SL. The answer is always a big fat YES (to my rl hubby just to clarify). I guess some folks get confused because G rarely logs on these days. Mostly because he's out playing in his new RL man cave. Men, so easy to please. It's become a bit of a joke and some people choose to believes he's really just one of my alts. Whatevs.

You can imagine the joy I had when I stumbled upon a new (to me!) store 'Dirty Lil Secret'. This store is chalk full of goodies and has a few new and older group gifts still around. The most recent group gifty (free to join!) really caught my eye.

I literally cracked up and called the hubster in. We had a few snickers over it and I decided it was the perfect V-day outfit! SO fitting really.

I paired this adorable dress with the bandage leggings I snagged at the Back to Black fair, by [Sleeping Koala]. I am so so in love with these. I've always had this love for leggings but I just haven't found a lot that go with most of my clothes. I've been wearing these for quite a few days now and I just can't help but be in love with them. Evening my lovelies!!

With Valentine's day just around the corner it's no surprise that weddings are popping up all over the grid! A new friend and employee is no exception in this case. After tossing aside at least 10 dresses I finally dragged myself out to buy something cute and formal that isn't circa 2008.

*Cringe* Outdated much?! It seems I went through a phase where I tinted everthing I owned purple. It just was not a pretty sight and well a girl has to look her best at a wedding.

Encouraged by looking cute I decided t extend the invite to thew hubby. He got all jazzed up and spiffy which is a huge difference from his normal grungy attire. Yes ladies, he's one of those av's that wears the same outfit always. Ive tried shopping and changing to no avail... Anyways. Little did I know putting GC and my boss man Ski together would be the equivalent of putting together a group of 12 year olds...

Men! I swear, you can't take them anywhere! I supose they just didn't want to show their true feelings :P

Shortly after the ceramony We were invited to join a precious reception... THings didn't get much better with my man. Maybe he's just in dire need of some male friends time?

Oh, and please ignore the fact that my pictures look like a newbie took them! I simply can't use ultra settings at weddings. Everyone ends up looking like a ruthed hot mess to me :/

Hello darlings,

Unless you've been under a rock I'm sure you have heard about Chic Management. As many of you know the original use of this amazing group of people was to promote awareness on mental health and it's effect on everything we do in life. Chic has since exploded onto the grid hosting well known events and hunts all the time. I have the opportunity to be one of their bloggers these days and I just wanted to take a moment to post the new items that will be available for the 'Back to Black' event coming up February 11th as Chic Management goes back to it's roots.

It's incredibly refreshing to see a group with so much power in SL take a step back from themselves and use their popularity in auch a selfless way. Please keep in mind of course that this event is about awareness and not a charity event. Also keep in mind that some of the designers have chosen to include little snipet notes in their items so please take a moment to look at them. The group of this event is a pretty neat one as it is focused around special words of hope. It's a really powerful event and I strongly urge you to go!

Also I apologize for using pre-made pics for some. I rarely do that but this week has been oddly busy for me and I absolutely wanted to make sure you got a bit of a sneak peak! SO I previously wrote about intruders on our land...

What happens when something WEIRD happens and there is no one else around to have done it?!

PLease excuse my giant picture. I took a sleeping pills... so yeah..

Anyway! You see those 3 lamps?! Guess what... they are "owned" by me.. but I never put them out. As in... I bought that lamp when we had our old land. When we bought the new plot I redecorated and chose a different lamp.. soo. WTF is that lamp doing suddenly sitting in the middle of my cat habitat, my grassy hill and our living room?! Some SL guru please explain to me why 15 minutes ago when i tped into my land there were no lamps and now there are 3...I've had this and for about 3 weeks and never once rezzed that lamp here.. Im not even using the same furniture as before...

GHOSTS.

Ps. can we all just overlook the fact that my circles and question marks resemble that of a 5 year old. MMK

I think as much as I love the colors of that lamp it must be perma deleted from my inventory now. It's just freakin weird. also this isn't some SL prank on just me because others can see it.

12 Days of Lingerie take 3, and 4!

I'm such a slacker on this! I decided due to multiple things to combine both 3 and 4 for the 12 Days of Lingerie Challenge.

I'm doing something a bit more different this time around then normal. With most of my photos I don't edit more then a few discolorations and some wonky elbows or body parts that SL has decided to morph into a pointy object. With that in mind I decided to play around with filters during this challenge. I've added some vintage looks, made some grainy, played with colors. It's been interesting to get my hands on some of the wonky tools I normally mis-use or overlook!

It's a bit hard to see as I took this the other night while SL was hating me. I was looking for edgy and ended up playing with my Shibari ropes. I normally don't use them unless I'm fooling around or for an event these days but.. well. They are , admittedly, pretty neat! I paired them with an oldie but goody- body stocking from Reasonable Desires and [Blossom] Chained Heels. Having worked at RD for over a year I still have some pretty sweet duds! This particular body stocking looks to be no longer available... However...

All the Lingerie at Reasonable Desires is being sold for 20L-99L. There are SO many options to choose from and a few of the items are tintable! All of the items are transferable as well so it makes for the perfect gift for that special someone or heck for that best gal pal!! If you are lacking in funds there is a 10L gatcha, as well as multiple Lucky Chairs!

Looking past all the goodies you can snag, the sim is something pretty awesome as well. Set in a black and white 40's style it's perfect for those ultra glam backdrops! This is a store I've known pretty much since my first weeks in SL. It's one I was a loyal employee of for over a year and one I'm shamed to say I've often overlooked for the big named stores.. Sad really. Austie and Marti are pretty brilliant. While the may not be using the premade sculpties that so many designers buy (myself included so no bashing meant) they do all hand drawn textures. The attention to detail is amazing and what some people don't know is that these designers are pretty awesome folks. After having meant some less than friendly designers in my day it's refreshing to see two people still so in touch with it all...

I guess this makes me think of a story I was reading recently about "Cash Mobs" Pretty much calls are going out all over the US inviting folks to small mom and pop stores and just people flooding in and buying items from them. It has nothing to do with bashing the big name stores but I think it's a lesson we could all use. Sometimes we get so focused on the big name brands or the "popular" brands we forget about someone who has been around longer then most of us and still giving it a go. Wouldn't it be a super special idea if a few of you folks did a little cash mob? Think about it , ey?

All I have to say is God bless Karmin and Blogger Challenges. Sometimes I stare at my post page blankly with NO clue what to show you today. I really really needed a challenge so when I saw Gogo's " 12 Days of Lingerie" Challenge I was ALLLL over that. I went through about 50 different looks before I finally said "fugetabout it". LOTD: Skinny Budget 4 Lisa Frank style

Afternoon lovelies!

Does anyone remember the awesomeness of Lisa Frank?! When I was a kiddo Lisa Frank was all the rage. Bright colors, awesome patterns.. stickers, stationary, you name it. It was all a pretty big deal if you had all the sets and such.

Anywho I was doing my normal blog snoop when i stumbled on the latest posting from Freebies for Cece. I won't lie I immediately reverted to a small girl and fell back in love with Lisa Frank all over again. The dress Cece was showing was literally something out of the Lisa Frank handbook for adults. Loves.LOVES

I absolutely had to scoop this dress up and I was even more amazed to learn it was a FREE group gift from *CK* Crazy Kitty!!! I hopped on down and immediately my eyes were overloaded with bright funky color combos. If you are into that sort of deal... this place is for you. There are numerous group gifts, lucky chairs and prize things all around.

Because of the bright funky nature of the dress I kept everything else a bit simple this time around. I decided to pair it with the freebie item I have out at [Blossom]!

Hey lovelies,

Today's post is a bit different from my normal. It doesn't include pictures, or ranting or fashion but it IS important. At least to me. I'm going to get a bit personal so if that isn't your cup of team you can pretty much stop reading now.

I wanted to start of with a little background on myself. I am a first degree reletive of someone with Multiple Sclerosis. My mother had MS, my mother's youngest sister has MS, though a completely different form. My father's cousin has MS. My best friends mother had MS... Are you sensing a pattern in my life? You should. For a good portion of my life I was surrounded by people that have a horrible, noncontagious disease. Each person I have ever encountered with MS has had a slightly different form. Because MS effect so many people in so many different ways. For my mother her MS attacked her brain. She went from the Vice President of a major bank, to sometimes forgetting who I was. For the last 5 years of her life I was her primary care giver. I saw first hand how someone so alive and vital could wither into a shell of their former self. My Aunt's MS is completely physical. In her early 20's she went from a quirky, hyper woman to someone who has no control over any part of her body. At an age well below senior status she is now confined to a bed in a nursing home. On the flip side there are people who show almost no symptoms. Sometimes they can live an almost normal live and have very little episodes. I've seen a young woman hassled and accused of being a drunk because her legs suddely stop working correctly. I've heard people laugh when someone with MS tries to say a simple phrase and the word in their head isn't the word that comes out of their mouth. At the same time I've also been whitness to ignorant doctors telling people that MS is all in their head. It's a cruel disease.

Understanding this you can see why when I have trouble coming up with a word. Or when I do something odd I always hear that whisper in the back of my mind. "What if..." There no real way to say why some people get this disease. It's been linked enviormentally, genetically and just about anyway you can think. So when I happened upon a post in SL for an ongoing study you can imagine my surprise..

It took me a while to decide what to call this particular look. In light of some recent jokes the "Angry "Real" Housewife" I have quite possibly the best husband ever. But he rarely logs his butt in anymore. Sometimes I log in, get dressed up and glare at the back of his head willing him to log into SL with me. We live in a small town where "night life" is a foreign concept so sometimes I like to go out in SL. I felt this would be a great look. all dressed up and Hubby is off doing something else. POOH.

After reading my last blog entry this morning I was overwhelmed by what can only be described as mild embarrassment. To heck with being bored. I have to make my own fun!!!

Before I got down to business I decided to pick the best outfit. Right now I'm really into the gorgeous mesh creations I've been collecting. After some thought I realized there is still a large group of people out there without mesh viewing abilities and those folks would see me naked wearing a canoe. In deference to them I turned to my wardrobe in search of something cute that might entice the good folks of SL to interact with me without thinking I was a hooker.

Hoorah! I suck at picking out outfits on the fly so this was the best I could come up with. Quickly: Dress- Kyoot, Jacket- Mon Tissu, Belt- Maitreya (from jeans), boots- Celoe, Hair-Exile (old gift) and Socks- *G Field*. Annnd I was off to find adventures! I busted out my old trusty folder of "Homes, Hot spots, and clubs" that I have collected pretty much since I was a newb.

All Dress Up and Nowhere to Go

That pretty much describes how I've been feeling. That trip I took really wore me out. While away I managed to contract the Plague. I swear. I missed out on half of the things I planned because I was a vile creature no one wanted to come near. I actually broke down and saw a Doctor. Which says something because I don't have a job atm... which means I don't have health insurance... and well with 3 hospital visits under my non insured belt... I would rather cut off a finger than try to squeeze more medical bills into my skinny budget. >>siiigh<< Whine whine. moan. groan. Yay

Anywho I'm finally easing out of the lasts of that bit of nasty and now I'm being plagued by a case of the blues. I just feel... sad/bored/helpless/lonely.. the list goes on. I need a life which i guess is pretty hilarious since I supposedly have 2 thanks to the magic of SL. Apparently not though. If I'm not working my SL job or forcing myself to post something here you can almost always bet I'm standing just outside of the front door to our SL house staring into space. When did I get so boring?! I remember when going to clubs was fun, and people actually *did* things. Now my SL consists of roaming around work directing people around. When my shift is over I sit there and organize and reorganize my inventory. My husband barely logs on at all these days. Sometimes we sit in the same room with our avi's logged on while we surf the web. LAME.

Is it just me? DO you actually do something fun? If so you should share... or be my friend... I could use one of those too. Woah buddy.. after reading this I'm sure all you cool cats are never going to talk to me again... Let me try to redeem myself ey?

Hello my darlings!

I've returned! I hope you all had a lovely holiday season and a wonderful New Year! It's been threee long weeks but as promised I have finally come back!

As we only returned last night and have been rather busy all day I don't have a whole lot unpacked or even sorted yet but I did want to share my adorable new furniture from Collabor88!

I have a home addiction! I love to move my house or constantly change it. The one thing I rarwly change is the basic decor. It tends to be the same chairs, couches and whatnot strewn around. But I fell in love with Lisp and Cheeky Pea's bright fun bits this time around!

Tomorrow I'll be traveling to see family and friends I haven't seen in over a year! This means I won't get the chance to make any new posts until after the new year! Let me Clear My Throat..

I was surprised to see a comment about a recent post on bad neighbors. I always love to get feedback and I wanted to be sure I gave her what she wanted!

I previously blogged about bad neighbors and I have to admit for once I was wrong. Shortly after I made my bans in anger I received an IM from one of their friends. I'll admit I was actually annoyed at this. I purposely did not answer but my roomie is ever the good gal and quickly fixed things. I still wasn't pleased but I decided to just let it go.

ow comes the foot in mouth part. I got an IM from one of them asking to give us a Christmas gift. :O

Ok this is by far the worst blog posting I've done and probably the worst picture I've taken but hey... When I'm wrong I admit it. So if you were wondering what happened with the great neighbor debacle... They turned out pretty awesome and they even removed the yucky decor. The moral of this story is.. Don't be so quick to judge..

I wanted to take a minute to talk a little bit about one of my favorite shoe designers in SL. Cerberus Noel of *G Field*. I have been a longtime lover of this store's shoes and verious other items. It's been a really long time since I have last willingly bought shoes in SL other than hunts or discounted items. With my new SL work I've been able to save a bit to treat myself and I knew right away where I was headed.

One of the things I love so much about *G Field* is the quality versus pricing. I feel it's one of the few shoe locations I can grab a pair of heels that I actually like and plan to wear again without weeping over my Linden accounts. Add to this the enormous amount of color options and this girl is hooked for life!

I absolutely HAD to have these shoes. For some unknown reason I love love love T strap sexy heels. This always amazes me because in RL I don't even own heels anymore. I guess this is my way of getting to live a little and these shoes are the perfect addition to my collection. This is saying something because I tend to be horribly picky. I have a "Wear it!" folder and then a shoe folder I shove things I don't love so much. These are absolutely in my "Wear It!" folder. The options on these shoes blows my mind. There are 4 different strap options (criss cross, single strap etc.) As well as options to change the sole and buckle colors! For only 200L, yes your read that right. I didn't miss a 0... OMMMG..But I didn't stop at just shoes... Oh no no.

Before I knew what hit me I was buying socks too! I secretly love thigh highs and knee highs with heels. I hadn't planned on grabbing socks but I'll admit I saw this adorably dressed gal standing near the landing and she had the socks. How could I say no?! These come in the tall and short packs. I Hate Tacky but I do Love Cute!

Hello my lovelies!

Today is a story about tacky neighbors. I'm really protective of my little sanctuary. I try not to be gaudy or too ridiculous. That being said I was a little despressed by our newest neighbor. We didn't get off to a great start.

At our current rental we are only to have fences below 2M which is pretty decent for keeping out unwanted neighbors while still keeping the sky clear for everyone's enjoyment. Nothing says "No trespassing" like a mini fence. For the most part I end up leaving my avatar parked for anything length of time at the center of our plot where I generally land. Imagine my surprise when I come back from grabbing some hot cocoa to see someone is within a few meters of me! It's my new neighbor attempting to climb our wall! I guess she was a bit surprised to see someone was actually there (I have the option to see and chat turned off) and when I asked if I could help she quickly scampered away. Shady. I'm not a huge fan of unwanted guests so this didn't leave me very hopeful for the future.

Our sim is also supposed to be "farming or country" so I'm trying to understand what sex pose ball rugs all over have to do with that... breeding babies?! I don't know and believe me this isn't all of it. There are blinking lights, particle emitters and the ban lines. Those darn ban lines. Because the first thing I want to see is yellow lines whenever I happen to turn around. Annoying >:(

But enough about the uglies. Let's check out some cutes. I can't decide what I love more.. The new Paper Doll dresses from Perfect Wardrobe or the adroable sparkley mesh heels, Leverocci's With Love Hunt Item... SO hard to choose. I guess it's a good thing for me they make a great outfit! It's Miasnow-ing in my Backyard

Hello my lovelies!

Okay, sorry for the corny title.. I was just excited! I tend to be pretty sentimental about stores I've been following for a while. Miasnow is one store I've had a girl crush on for about as long as I can remember! Her goodies have gotten me through so many crazy skin and hair events it's almost a little embarrassing. But not really, because I love her goodies.So when my good friend Lilly gave me the heads up on a recent blog post Mia wrote I knew I had to give it a go...

As I'm sure you've seen my life has been one big winter wonderland. My neighbors probably think I'm insane. Or if they didn't they sure do now!

When Mia passed me these adorable polar bears I knew they were the perfect completion to my little slice of SL winter heaven! Better yet, you can snag the lone polar bear with his color changing light with a simple click of the MM in store. I personally know quite a few of my friends have already made the mad dash down to grab theirs!

I'm showing you this adorable beast in it's 13 prim normal form. He's sitting on top of his own icy patch complete with soft glowing grass and delicate particles rising all around him. One of the best features is that you have the option to click on just about anything on him! This means you can pretty much turn off, modify and copy most anything about him. I love anything that let's you play around to get exactly what suits your mood!

The target for the MM board is currently 55 clicks so grabs your friends, your neighbors, heck drag grandma down if you have to! But don't worry if you don't quite make that target... she's been known to force it a time or two.. Still it's be pretty great to show how much we love her but giving it a full go :D

You probably also noticed that sweet family of bears playing around in the background! Mama, Papa and Baby bear just love to fool around. You can grab these little guys in store to keep your new MM friend company! Grab then -inworld- for just 199L or on Marketplace for just a tiny bit more! These items come Copy/Mod so you can play around with the position they also come each beach separated so you can choose to have to use one, or 20!

First off I hit the Winter Fair yesterday. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised!! after my lag fest-y attempts to hit locations with people recently I'd about given up leaving my house. Can you believe I hit the Winter Fair and with over 47 people there at the time I was walking as if I was the only person on the sim?! I give props where they are due. This was EXCELLENT execution! Plus beyond all of the exclusive winter items this fair was jam packed with goodies for visitors! Most stores had some sort of offering to the masses, Here are a few I loved!

I've also switched over to the official first release of Firestorm! I'm really hoping this works out better for me. In previous week I began to have a ton of issues with the beta client. It eventually escalated to the point that I couldn't even take a picture for myself. I've you've been avoiding the mesh viewing goodness of Firestorm because of that reason... I can attest to it being fixed.!!

Everything is Golden

Today ends one my experiments. After doing the Newbie Style Challenge a few weeks ago I began to start thinking about how people in SL make money. My main focus was on someone new who may not have developed the skills to work or just plain don't know where to look for a job in SL.

Admittedly a lot has changed since I was a newbie. When I first started camping was still in full swing, and jobs in clubs were actually worth something. With new clubs popping up daily it's not often easy to pull in large crowds or get big tippers anymore. Sometimes the thought of a club is SO overwhelming to someone who is new and more often treatment can be poor if you show signs of being new. Not always but enough..Events themselves used to be another way to make cash while having a good time. Now there are so many rules and cheaters it's almost scary. Of course there are a TON of other types of jobs to be had as well. Goodness knows we've all held enough of them. But what happens when you can't supply yourself with Lindens from a RL account and you just can't find a suitable job?

For the past few weeks I've been dabbling in some of the lesser shown ways to find some money. One of the first questions I get asked when encountering someone new is "how do i get money?". Often that answer leaves people more confused. I wanted to show a few things I found! Previously I did a stint with Earn2Life. Personally it wasn't for me. I found the hud you use was often unreliable and didn't handle lag all that well. I also felt that the process of earning the money often had little to do with things I wanted to learn or do. It might be up your alley but I don't choose to endorse it myself.

I did however also take a chance with Gold Hunt. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. Pretty much the idea is simple. You tp to one of the locations (you can find a huge list on the website!) locate different coins and click them. Depending on the worth you have to wait a certain amount of time before you answer a simple mathematical question. (ex. 3+4.. pretty simple) Once you correctly answer the question to are given the value of the coin you clicked. Not all coins equal a full Linden so you have to visit different locations and often multiple times. You should take note that you will not receive the money immediately. Often the coins you are finding range from 0.05L- 1L, gems equal more. The coins and points you earn are put into an account. When you have earned at least 1 full Linden you can TP to the Headquaters or anyplace with a gold ATM and cash out. You may only cash out 100L a day.

I was actually pretty surprised at how addicted I became. If you are competitive like me it becomes more than a game. For instance, if you are not within 3 meters of your coin when the waiting period if up someone can swoop in and steal it from you. I'll be honest, it DOES happen. There are people who will jump all over a high paying coin or gem if you aren't watching. On the other hand there are many many more players who will gladly clear the sim if they see you've already laid claim to most of coins.

Some more interesting things I liked were the people and the sense of community. Admittedly I was skeptical. People can be mean. But after a while you begin to recognize faces and locations. I've met some pretty neat people as well as having found some pretty neat locations. I've visited haunted mansions, swam through underwater caves and have even found long forgotten hot spots.

I also have to say the service I received from the staff was actually pretty decent. You can join the group in-world and watch for postings or issues. It's also a great way to meet the players around the grid. I did have one run in with a chat Moderator. However I am pleased to say I brought up the issue to the CEO Wili Clip and unlike some companies I actually received a reply and carried out a pretty intelligent conversation. The end result left me feeling good that someone was out there was listening to me!

All in all out of 2 weeks I only spent about 10 actually hunting. My end cash out was just over 500L. To many this isn't a ton but to someone who may not have any other means it can be a huge deal. If you happen to be new or know someone who could use some extra cash for the holiday's pass it along! Happy hunting :)

Great Outdoors

Hello my lovelies!

As I mentioned in my last post I'm in a redecorating mood. SO when a little birdie told me about an amazing outdoor decor sale I just had to jet on over! Nature's Touch Nursery is going out of business sadly. The store was set to close a few days ago but lucky for me it seems to be extended until Nov 30th! About 99% of the items are set to free. That means ever blade of grass, every tree, every stone along a path or water is free!! FREE! The one thing I lack in my inventory is decent trees that aren't 10 prims or more. I snagged some amazing pines here for 0L at 5prins a piece!!

I'm pretty sure I bought one of everything as most things were Copy/No Mod/No Trans! Just as I was about to being worrying about carting all my goodies home I was thrown for yet ANOTHER loop. Another LM? A WINTER zone?! OMG. Be still my heart.

The only things not for sale here is the sky-box, snow on the ground and the cabin. Fear not though, this cabin is stuffed with gift boxes, lights, and tree decor! <3

Over 60 transactions later I struggled and shoved 2 semi's worth of inventory back to the house. I wonder how much I can fit on our little plot?! GC's going to have a fit!

Vinter Vunder Lannnd

Hello my lovelies!

I miss winter .. really badly actually. It's currently raining pretty hard in my neck of the woods. As I sat at my computer nibbling on a mint chocolate chip ice cream sammich I started to crave snow and cold weather. Since my RL wasn't satisfying my needs I decided to create a winter oasis in SL for myself!

I was feeling a bit inspired so I decided to dig out some old textures and whatnot and build myself a house! Yep.. I built that beauty! Well.. not the door... I borrowed that because marketplace refused to deliver my sculpty door so I ran out of patience and used the one from my old house. Whew.

To complete my wintery look I decided to head on over to {What Next} on Marketplace and grab some of the awesome goodies they had! Currently they are putting out the new winter/Christmas items in world so lucky me a ton of the older stuff was marked down to just 10L. That bit of tree this picture is peering through as well as the awesome snow are just some of the MANY goodies found for amazing deals! <3

The house in comprised of one long room and a smaller room off to the side. I wanted something big enough to put up some fun decor without losing prims. I'm currently in crash mode or else I would be decorating the interior a bit more! Most items shown are from a mix of places. PS. The interior wall textures were made by me! A little something I came up with a few years ago. Colors include red, blue, teal, yellow and brown. All wall textures are detailed with upper and lower molding and trim as well! The rest of the building textures are from scattered locations.

Also it should be noted that there are quite a nice amount of designers participating but if you are looking for clothes Armidi supplied about 75% of them from what I saw. I happen to own at least one of everything Armidi had in the past so this wasn't much for me. But if you've always drooled over the designs but never had the cash this is the ideal time to give yourself a holiday treat! <3

Aside from that little diddy I don't have much for you currently. Things have been horribly busy in my RL. We'll be doing a LOT of traveling over the next few months because the family that actually celebrates holidays lives far away from us. Also funds are limited in both worlds so keeping up with all the amazing goodies out has been a task. Being on a budget in SL is new for me.. and at the same time not so new. Normally I budget myself just for the sake of not over buying. Which I could easily do if I let myself! Now it's choosing between spending 750L on new mesh boots.. or paying land rent. We've minimalized out land to the smallest plot with the most prims. I suppose we could give it up but I like having a house to come home to and a place to rez my photo box without having newbies attack :D - I suppose in my rambling way what I'm trying to say is : I'm currently pretty poor in SL and on a tight budget in both worlds. I'll still be blogging but don't expect new and amazing wardrobes from me any time soon. Time for this chica to get an SL job. EEP.

Vintage Fair: I've really made it

Words can't even begin to describe my time at the Vintage Fair! I was super excited when I was one of the first 10 people to make it to the sim for opening. I actually was so insistent on making it there today to be a super cool blogger that I faked interest in land for rent on a nearby sim. In my thoughts the closer I was the easier it would be to get there. Ding Ding!! We have a winner.

That sexy orange blog there in the corner would be me. I made sure to remove all body parts to show how purrdy I am. Hehe

I hope your visit to the fair wasn't as insane as mine. Six crashes, 2 sim deaths and an entire reboot of the PC later it seemed smarter to just wait. I take full responsibility and I'm not blaming my insane time on anyone but myself. I tend to have no patience when I see what I want. Which is what made this trip so hard for me. I made it into a full rezzed sim (btw that awesome pre rez poster they sent was a FANTASTIC idea) but I was unable to purchase anything farther than 20M from me. Which pretty much was the biggest tease ever. Oh well, I'll just keep trying over the next few weeks!

I initially started this post to rant about some of the drama I've read about recently but quite honestly for once I realize it's not my fight. I'm a small blog just starting out. I don't have contacts or designers in my pocket. But ya know what.. -I was here, I just want them to know- SO here's a little fashion something for you all followed by a little chat session! Okay let's get serious for a moment. Upfront i mean no disrespect or any ill will.

Sometimes I wonder how you become one of the "elite bloggers". I figure I'd be bad at it becasue I've never been really good at meeting people. The one thing that keeps me blogging is the love of clothing and my appreciation towards designers who are putting in the hard work. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I believe an honest blogger is a good blogger. I've spent a lot of money on something I saw in a post only to realize that the item in question had been photo shopped beyond recognition. I'm a huge believe in help cristicism. Helpful being the key word. I also think that sometimes we all inflate our own self worth to the point we forget the "little people" out there. Sometimes it's those "little people" that are keeping your store or blog or whatever afloat and all we want is to be treated as an equal.

I've been seeing a lot of people blogging the Vintage Fair. I missed the deadline to apply as a blogger. I kick myself a little bit that I missed it. At the same time I was a bit afraid to even send in an application. I sent my first blogger request ever a few weeks ago and apparently I didn't even warrant a response. A simple "no thanks" would have been fine. But to be absolutely dismissed without even a comment makes me feel small. Live and learn I suppose.

I guess what I'm trying to get at with my rambling is that we all matter. Even the smallest of us have an impact on someone. That being said I appreciate each and every viewing and comment I receive. I do this for you and I like knowing you enjoy it as much as I do. I probably won't ever be a mega blog like some out there but I will continue with my little circle because it's what I enjoy.

Also if you are someone small or just anyone looking to get noticed I'm always happy to post an ad or do a review for free. I love to help small businesses such as muself even get a sliver of acknowledgement. The same goes for wannabe bloggers. Collabor88- Discount Diva Makeover

'Evening my lovelies!

I've become a huge fan of Collabor88. It's not often I find a collection that I buy something from each and every time. I am so so in love with this month's collection! So much in fact that it inspired a makeover of sorts!

The hair, dress and skin shown are all part of the November Collabor88! I am soooo in love with this dress from Ingenue! It is mesh so be warned you will need to be using a mesh viewer (duuh) but the peek-a-boo back is totally worth it! The dress comes in 3 other colors so you can be sure to find something to suit you! While I was on a shopping roll I found this creamy smooth skin from Illusory! I did add a few makeup touches myself as the makeup consists of pale pink lips and pastel colored shadows. I love the milky look of this skin. I've been wearing League skins for a while now and was never happy with the palest shades offered. Generally I'm a one skin type of girl, I'll wear it till it's outdated but goodness this is gorgeous. Feeling truly inspired I opted for [E]'s Brown 6 shade instead of my normal darker tresses! I eve gave my shape a little of a work over!

Also worn is the past 50L Friday scarf from Miel, and shoes from G*Field. For those frugal fashionistas out there: the stocking worn are a little fat pack I picked up on Marketplace for only 1L! You can grab them -here- and be sure to check out all the other goodies offered :D

Hello my lovelies!

Do you know what is absolutely no fun? I do! Being woken up at 5:30am by loud thumping, followed 2 hours later by the roofers you've been waiting for for over a month.

The upside to all this was we finally got our new roof! Coupled with a late night however makes this girl a lazy bum! I battled around for a while with some outfits that just didn't suit my mood. One of the things I've been disliking lately are some of my animations in my AO. I've spent a good deal on some gorgeous sweaters only to be unable to wear them because my arms/hips/butt get in the way. After fiddling, swapping and changing I was able to test it on this luscious sweater from {u.f.o}. The thick cable knit made me want to curl up in front of the fire with a good book and tune out the world! What do you think? Comfy weather cute?

I wasn't feeling jeans with this look and while it was nearly long enough to sport as a dress I just didn't feel to comfortable with that! We all know how snoopy some folks can be! Instead I paired it with the Heather Grey tights from Mon Tissu layered underneath a pair of thigh high socks. I putzed around with the beige skirt and a blue sweater but the combo wasn't quite what I was hoping to be. Also it should be noted that this skirt is mesh. It comes with glitch pants and a mesh piece that is only between the legs to give that super tight effect. The mesh comes in two different sizes and there is a demo available for anyone still not sure of mesh fitting yet!

As we all know I adore blogger challanges. I especially like a challange of making an avatar from scratch using a budget. If you haven't guessed by now I am a huge lover of anything cheap or free. I do spend money in stores but I also thing a healthy amount of gifts entices someone to spend money as a 'Thank You' as well as allowing a person to sample items without wasting money on something that might not be quite what they had hoped.

That being said when I saw Gogo of Juicy Bomb had started the Newbie Style Challenge II, I was Super excited. You can read the rules and such -here-

If you have spent any time in SL with me then you know I have an alt addiction. Most recently I cut back to those linked to anything I still do in SL. There was a time when I would create an alt just to 'make her/him over'. I would hunt all over SL just to prove I could make an avatar that cost 10, 20, 30L..even free. SO the 550L limit for this challenge sounds like a fortune.

I started out as a brand newbie with a new alt I made. I decided to make not one but three looks in total.(I may do more in the future! keep posted)

I also snagged some great things that aren't sp easy to see! Oracul offers one of the BEST freebie AO'S I've seen. You can snag it at the Fab Free HQ. It comes with a male AO as well and it's Copy/Trans!

The poses I used were freebies from Fab Free HQ and D!va (upstairs)

When making my looks this time around I wanted to focus on quality. Any old person can find a free outfit (If you can't then you deserve a smack upside the head ala Gibbs on NCIS.. :D). Rich textures and decent attachments make an outfit better than the system layer snoozer! The hardest things for me to find was decent hair (I tend to be ultra picky normally) and shoes. I never did go gaga over any of the shoes I found but oh well. Granted I could have used a chunk of that 550 to buy shoes or hair but I was more focused on an actual newb shopping.

Also noted: I could have made this super easy by doing hunts and current sales but I thought it smarter to show items that may still be around months from now!

Taking it one step further:

One thing we most often overlook is something as simple as a profile pic. Often spending 10L to upload is a big deal to someone new. (This is for anyone not using SL V3). During my quest for poses or photo studios to make a profile pic I found a rare gem. Studio Focus is a new photography location just getting started. Happy Halloween, but I'm feeling a bit Blah

Hey lovlies!

I had originally planned on showing something ghoul-tastic today in honor of Halloween butttt.. I ended up being introduced to this adorable store called Blah!

The stuff in this store is a bit out of my comfort zone but everything was so cute I couldn't resist sharing it with you all! It's a very 'American' store dipped in sugary sweetness. Imagine bright colors mixed with baseball T's, sweater dresses and a great assortment of eyes, piercings and tatts! I am a total sucker for rich textures and cutesy items. You all really need to get over there and check things out!

Prices are absolutely reasonable and there are a ton of goodies to grab as well! hOshi is an incredibly generous designer who is active in hunts as well as offering 2 cheap gifts for Halloween and 3 lucky boards. Be sure to join her group as well because it's absolutely free as well as needed it to stalk the lucky boards and to get that free group gift in stores!

Hello again lovelies!

I just wanted to take a moment to show off my newest chilly weather look!

DCNY just released an adorable cable knit mesh sweater dress! I can't even begin to tell you how much this means to me! One of my favorite looks for the chilly seasons consists of sweater dresses and tights. In the past I've never been fully satisfied with the final look of any sculpted bottoms as the skirt portion never seems to full match up. Currently the dress is offered in a multitude of colors! DollCoco- let's chat it out

OKay, has anyone else been to DOLLCOCO? I've heard some whisps of convo and decided to try it out when I saw that the owner had set the light and dark body parts as a free group gift.

I was actually really excited about all this because I happen to have what I consider my "broken dolly" alt. Pretty much she's got something of a cracked skin, a cutsey dress and hair and she reminds me off a neglected doll. I love her look so much I've never found anything to replace her outdated skin or other items. When I heard about the new "doll" avatars popping up I figured I would test drive them before I did the real deal.

Here's the thing. While I think the concept is new and exciting I don't love the end results. For one, I'd hoped for more body styles. The tall lanky model look isn't really what I would hope my dolly looked like. Another thing is the issues with mesh when removing the parts later on.

When I first removed the parts and got back to my normal self there was something horribly wrong with my avatar. No matter what shape I tried I was stuck in some sort of stretched out and squished old school "Ruth". Thinking it was just me I rebaked and eventually had to relog. I ended up relaying the message to my husband who in turn tried it himself (on a totally different PC) Again upon removal there were some serious shape errors. He also noticed that the eyes were displaced with the wonky shape and therefore were always following the camera. It was a bit creepy to say the least.

All in all I have to say I was pretty disappointed. However being me I always have to find some of the good in things. The idea in itself is pretty awesome and the store left me feeling like I had stepped into "Build A Bear". Also the outfits and added items were pretty neat as well :D

As an update: I worried that it was some sort of SL meltdown with mesh itself. This seemed to not be the case. I was able to wear all my mesh goodies with no issues except for the DOLLCOCO items.

The Amazing Downfall of Khloe

Hi darlings!

First off, feast your eyes on this:

Isn't that the best picture EVER?! Yeah, that's what I'm seeing upon login. Supposedly that would be Truth's mainstore. Clearly something is amiss here. I've been crashing, freezing, and just plain sucky all afternoon! It took me a half hour just to get a group gift and only becasue I was convinced I had to have it in the event SL decides to die.

I'm having flashbacks circa 2007-2008 when the grid totally went down and there was a scant 1000 of us still clinging to life as "Ruth"'s. A few of my friends and I rode out the great death of SL after a party. We ended up marooned on an island and we all had tiny boobs and big feet, even the guys. Those were the days. However this horrible slow death is just NO fun. Is it just me? Or is there something more going on that I'm not clued in on yet?

Update: Truth finally rezzed bt that group gift from elsewhere I wasted all that time on? GONE.

I'm a but cranky. It's been an odd few days. I spent yesterday in the hospital... again. It's starting to feel like this is my initiation into a new place. Move = ER visit. I will say this tiny town has a very decent hospital. For the first time in my life there was NO ONE in the waiting room. I was in, and with a doctor in under 20 minutes. Apparently someone thought it would be a hoot to give me McDreamy's younger brother while I was weeping in pain. I swear this kid was younger than me. But he took my pain away and for that I can't fault him.

However his free hand with the pain meds left me sleepy as all get out. INsert drowsy wakeup this AM and I had to go to the DMV to get my new license. Not a pretty site. However I did pass the stupid written test. Seriously who the heck makes everyone take a written test when they've been driving for years with no record? Annoyance.

Anywho: the moral of this story is... not a clue. SL has decided to dislike me. If it's not just me feel free to let me know. Until I can long in correctly -hugs!

Step into my dorky world

Hello lovelies! I wanted to share some excitement with you all! This is a bit of a step outside SL but it does have to do with the future of my blogging!!

I got a tablet! Or I guess I should say I've been loaned one (uhm yeah i'm not giving it up!) My Father-in-law was super kind to give me his barely used tablet. He bought it for work purposes, used it for less than an hour and completed the task he needed it for. I've been drooling over it for a while now.

I've read some good and bad reviews about how other bloggers and photogs with tablets feel about them. It seems a bit of a toss up. I happen to adore this one, at least for picture editing purposes. Sometimes I've wanted to get a bit artsy for the sake of a challenge or just for a personal picture and doing some of the things I've wanted just hasn't worked out with a mouse. SO yay, excitement. And please bear with me are I take the journey into something totally new for me :D

Oh and what's a blog without a picture! I'm not a great artist but it did giveme a better scale of what I could expect to do :D

I drew this completely by hand and then cheated with a but of autofill while i played around. I'd liken it to the work of a child but hey considering i couldn't even sign my name with a mouse I'm pretty excited to start advancing.

Also for anyone interested in how it would help them:

Editing or creating makeup especially delicate pieces is SO much easier.

Halloween Hunt-Ricielli Style

If you are like me the changing of the seasons generally means an overhaul of your wardrobe. I've made it no secret that I tend to dress myself ( for the most part) in whatever trends are popping up in seasonal wears.

As I mentioned in my last post I've been getting my hands into some of the large hunts again. While multi Sim hunts can be a blast and introduce you to all types of new things, I often enjoy a simple one store hunt. Ricielli is one of my favorite places to enjoy during a hunt. I happen to love the fact that the items can all be mixed and matched to make multiple high fashion as well as casual outfits.

Another great fact about Ricielli hunts is the lack of a time constraint. Granted no hunt can last forever but I've never found myself worrying about not finishing in the alloted amount of time. Add to this the interesting hunt layout. The items are generally easy to find but you also aren't going to always find things where you would expect. If you are looking for the shoes you might just end up finding them in the skin section. This coy setup allows for the hunter to truly look around the store while still being able to find the items they want at a fast pace. Of course some of you might be wondering how you'd even know what to be looking for or what gifts to be expecting. If you happen to be a Ricielli group member the hunt note cards are always send out and they always include a single picture detailing the hunt items as well as what will be inside. The hunt items are numbered to make it easier. If you aren't interested in a specific option because you already have it you can simply verify the number on the item with the number on the picture and voilà - no gift repeats!

Check out the latest hunt going on now! Also keep in mind unlike most hunts the items you will be getting are not necessarily 'Autumn or Halloween' colors! Sometimes it's nice to get something fresh!

I loved the colors in this hunt. I've never missed the opportunity to catch a hot Ricielli item :D

I will give you a few helpful bits of info and thoughts on the products. Each hunt item costs 15L. So if you happen to be a freebie fashionista then this hunt isn't for you. However if you like to snag an amazing deal while checking out a hot store then what are you waiting for!?

Also in regards to the items themselves:
- The 2 sets of earrings are a great steal. Keep in mind the jewelry tends to be on the large side and a big chunky.

- Number 17 is a multi colored shawl type shirt. If you have an avatar that moved her arms or has any chest thrusting animations you might want to skip this. I personally had some issues sizing it to one of my other personalities.

- Number 18 is a one shouldered Little Black Dress. Be warned this is one of Fhara's first attempts with mesh. There are 2 size options but I found it hard to size on myself. If you are a bit busty this might be up your alley/ However if you aren't yet sporting a Mesh viewer than move right along to the next goody.

Let the hunt begin

I've been doing something I haven't done in a while. Hunts in SL. I'd thought I had outgrown them for the most part. I think mostly it had to do with the fact that I was using a less than stellar PC at the time which mean I was the girl you'd see half naked 'ghost walking' by you on the sim. Hunts or anything that make for tons of people near me pretty much were a bust.

I'd say I became a virtual hermit of sorts which is pretty sad considering one generally uses SL to be .. ya know.. social. That being said my new PC is a whole ton better. I haven't been using it so much because I don't have a desk ATM. Currently I'm rocking this makeshift uncomfy thang.. one of those little fold up tables lazy people eat tv dinners on... or old people use.. yeahhh one of those... and because my monitor and speakers take up it's entire surface I'm balancing my keyboard on a folded piece of cardboard. Gawd... I'm so ghetto!

It's okay, you can laugh if you want to. I do often.

Anyways believe it or not this post was actually about the hunts i did! Overall I like a good hunt. I tend to do well publicized ones for the most part. I also have a habit of choosing hunt I can skip around on. Because let's face it...relying on finding the next item to move on drives me INSANE.

Let's take the Zombie Popcorn hunt for example. 100 stores of awesome. SOMEHOW I managed to start the hunt before the hunt list and hints were passed out. I knew there were a few specific items from the hunt that I wanted to get right away as my time online is pretty much touch and go. So there I am huffing and puffing without my list and getting more mad by the minute. I'm pretty sure at one point I spent a half hour in a store looking for the little popcorn bag. There was a LOT of cursing and mumbling under my breath. I'm also pretty sure at some point I made a vow to myself. I decided any store that hid their item to the point of making me mad wouldn't be getting my patronage any time soon.

That's a big thing for me. I love hunts. And while hints are nice I really enjoy searching, laughing over silly mess ups with people and just generally getting the chance to explore forgotten or never before seen stores. However when I walk into a store that hid the item SO well that there ends up being an overflowing jam or people still looking, I start to get annoyed. Furthermore while I get that being cunning is great for a hunt, I feel excessive 'fake' hunt items, tinting the hunt item to blend with the color of your store or making it so small it's hard to tell the hunt item from a spot on your screen- is cheating. Or at the very least bad taste. I feel if I get to the point where if I have the option to move on without getting your item because I've looked for 15 minute or more and sill haven't found it- chances are I'm going to write your store off as well.

I'm really feeling very over Firestorm's issues lately. I don't know if it's me or something on their end but goodness is SL sucking for me right now. I've been crashing at nearly every TP, lagging so baddly at my own house I end up on the other side of the Sim. Suffice to say in the past 24hrs SL has decided to HATE me.

I tried rocking a non-mesh beta viewer and it worked briefly until all the items I snagged to show ended up being mesh. and then well. GRR. Anywho.. Hold onto your panties ladies because I have been shooooppping!

First off I hit Whippet & Buck's 50L friday item. As of Sunday it was still hanging on the wall. I'd say if you love it, try your luck!

After grabbing this gorgeous backless dress I snagged some goodies from this round of Collabor88. The items this time were right up my alley! I ended up with some adorable clothes and hairstyles! I've been enjoying the seasonal changes in RL a lot. It's the first time in a year I am not surrounded by palm trees!

I was super excited to check out the latest releases from Mon Tissu in-world last night! I'll admit I did go a bit overboard on purchases. I also snagged my look from the picture ad because it was so very Khloe. It's quite hard to tell in this photo but I gave myself a bit of a makeover as well.

Hello lovelies!

I shouldn't be taking time to post but...pssshh. I AM! I wanted you all to know that I pinky promise to come back when things are a bit more settled in our new life! I don't have my normal computer so taking pictures is currently a big fat NO.

!!!!!!!!!!!!! Warning. This Post contains a large rant regarding my RL. If you do not wish to laugh, cry and gasp in horror feel free to stop reading now! I'll get back to SL fashion when I can!!!!!!!!!!!

First off this is my first day with internet in over a week! Imagine that. I never realized how addicted I was until I had to drive to the dinky county library just to check my email or look up a location. It was a scary time that amounted to me reading a book a day or better. And this was all around unpacking!

Unpacking = hell. Not our unpacking mind you. The additional family moving in. Our items were out off the cars and 75% unpacked within 2 hours. They came with the biggest U-haul truck. siigh.

Another downer is the house. Oh boy. When the world as I knew it lurched to a halt we made fast and often hard decisions. The biggest being to pack up what we could and get out of dodge before we really dug ourselves in a hole. That being said when the offer came from the in-laws to go on an adventure to a house they had inherited it seemed to be a perfect solution. Too bad the house looks like something you'd see on that show 'Extreme Home Makeovers'. Currently I'm staring at a giant crack directly over my bed Waiting for the roof to fall in. To name a few of the issues: The house is so old that: the paint is peeled off outside, it was never wired properly so eventually one of us is going to electrocute everyone in the house, the carpets are green and brown shag (WTFH) and that's just the half of it. I believe this is where I start sobbing and bed Ty Penington to come save me. PS. Did I mention someone brilliant put a WINDOW in the shower. Yeahhhh. True story.

Another downer is the double family issues. The house is a lot smaller than we were led to believe. Instead of three bedrooms there are two. The kitchen is cramped and all the appliances need replacing. That being said you can picture what that does to two very different couples. My relationship with my husband is still bubbly and fresh. Sure we've been together for four years, but we also have only been married for a month! We still like to have fun, be together and live. The in-laws are extremely religious and unbending. There is a certain 'women belong in the kitchen' vibe that grows stronger daily. My feminist side resents the "Man of the house" (yes that's what Mr. In-law calls himself) who thinks just because he demands it or snaps his fingers I'm supposed to hop to. Especially when I'm busy unpacking boxes so we can actually sleep on our beds. This living arrangement won't last long. Then of course theres Mrs. In-law. I like her for the most part. She can be a bit different but most of the time we get on fine. It's the times when she's too polite to say she wishes we hadn't come. The comments like "This was a big house for 2 people." Sorry, you should have spoken up sooner. Oh yeah and they don't eat meat suddenly. Uhm. To each their own but I'd rather walk away now than give up my meat.

So all in all this move has been a total bust. I do like the town, though it takes getting used to. It's small, there is no traffic but it often feels like it's a decade behind in times. There is a strong religious vibe, people are extremely friendly and will be glad to talk your ear off and the movie theater is so tiny you buy your tickets and candy at the same counter.

And that my readers is why Khloe is pretty much on hiatus. Much love and don't forget me! Keep your eyes peeled. I'm so ready to dive into a fall wardrobe!

My days are so full right now I'm having trouble even finding time to sit down and edit the pictures I pre took. Friday is the big day and despite having no furniture but our bed and desks left my living room looks like a war zone. Or an episode of hoarders. Tonight we have goodbye dinners with my family and tomorrow the rest of our furniture is being picked up by friends. Madness. I hate clutter/messes/unresolved bits and pieces/ AHHHH!!!!

I won't lie. I still have my reservations about mesh. I know I've talked about it quite often recently so I'll try to make this one of my last meshy bits for a while. I mentioned previously that I had raided Jane so I wanted to show you two of the skirts I ended up with!

I ended up getting a maxi skirt and a pencil skirt. These two pieces were super important to me because as I've said, my booty tends to take over sculpted/prim skirts. So I was super excited to be able to rock these two gems.

I also want to be very clear that I have done no editing to change the look of either item. They didn't need it to get the point across!

Oh and the adorable shoes I'm wearing are from Koko's subscribo! Grab em while you can!

Speaking of adorable shoes...

I am so in love with these shoes from Lelutka. I had seen a RL ad similar to them and though I'm not a RL show freak I pretty much lost my mind over them. SO imagine my glee when my love Jayme shoots me an IM. I'm pretyty sure there was screaming about amazing shoes and then sudden tps..

Upon landing I was like "OH, look at your amazing shoes. yay for you!" I scanned over the price tag, scanned my Linden acount and got a bit pouty in my head. Darn it. Not enough Lindens. About this time I start plotting which of my horses I can pawn off for some cash. Then something AMAZING happens.

She bought me shoes!!!! Becasue she is amazing and the bestest friend ever... and and.. she knows I would love them. <3 I do. I really do.

WOW. That was the worst paragraph/story...ever? SO Anyway, that is the tale of how I came to own my first un-free/ subscribo/ group gift- shoes in... well a long long time! Thank you mama J! <3 You rockz!

I think this whole massive rain thing is really throwing me off. Currently I'm living in a warm weather state that , dare I say, is almost bearable right now. It's got a slight chill to the breeze and doesn't make me want to weep while I'm trudging inside and out.

Of course it also seems to have convinced my body that it's time for big fluffy hoodies and beef stew. I have a Guiness stew-like concoction heating up on the stove. Yums.

I also allowed myself to get dragged into the world of mesh now that FireStorm has a Mesh Beta viewer out atm. After hemming and hawing over my Linden balance I sucked it up and headed down to Jane.

I've previously discussed Jane's early attempts at mesh but I hadn't yet purchased anything. I was really holding out to see changes and for a darn viewer that didn't crash every 3 seconds.

I was pleasently surprised to see a few new additions to her already more than ample mesh cache. I was even more pleased as I stood there trying demos to see she had made more size options.

The last time I was there things were in Large or Small. I had a bit of a crisis. I tent to be between sizes in RL. Before I had even worked up to trying on a demo I had already gotten myself into a tither. I'm pretty sure there was some shrieking and a little bit of fist shaking. My husband just looking at me and shook his head. But NOOOW there are more options so gosh darnit something was going to fit. And it did! Like a glove. I ended up with a long skirt, hoodie and a cute dress.

As you can tell by my total lack of editing or trying I'm feeling like a bit of a bum today. At some point I will show you my other goodies but this is the awesome comfy hoodie I bought. It made me want to curl up!

Which I would be doing in RL if my living room *cough entire apartment cough* didn't look like we had held up a Uhaul. Oh boxes why must you take up so much sppppacccce. Sigh

I Don't Think You're Ready for this Jelly

I love this because I have a bit of a booty love in SL. Or sometimes hate. My avatar has a bit more curve on her lower half. No she isn't one of those abusers of the slider but she does have a bit of a ghetto booty. In fact it seems to be a constant issue when it comes to skirts or dresses in SL. I've spent many a day modifying clothing to fit my shape because I refuse to be a complete twig! Yay for booty!!!

I wasn't as creative as I could have been this time around but I thought it got the point across. Of course the whole time I sat there taking tons of pictures I had one some going through my head- Bootylicious. I know. Laugh all you want

Hello my lovelies! I have lots to update you on!

First of all: I have goodies to show! folders full infact and I swear I'll get to them ASAP but it may take some time...because...

Secondly: I'm moving in a matter of 2 weeks. I should say we are UNEXPECTEDLY moving in 2 weeks. It's not entirely a 'yay' thing but it's not as bad as it could be i guess. SIGH

I'll be taking a bit of a break because OMG I have to pack up our entire home in 2 weeks. And this is of course RL. *pulls hair*

Okay and my absolute rant of the day is this:

If you are a designer/owner/customer service member/WHATEVER... Please include a notecard or at least an IM with the reason you are giving me something and who I should be giving due credit to. I get so many ims and things that sometimes they come in wonky and just sending me something with zero details on what the item costs, who its from or when its released leaves me in a bit of a rut.

Also, If I have not subscribed to your store/event/thingybob please don't just add me. Spamming me with information on your discount store just because I happened to stop in doesn't make me want to talk about you much. I'm sure that sounds bitchy and that a new blogger such as myself shouldn't be so choosy .... BUT, If I've been to your location and chose not to join anything or buy anything that doesn't give you a free for all to just take my information and use it at will. K thanks. All you have to do is ask! Most of the time I'm such a pushover I say yes anyway :P

Hi lovelies! I'm so so sorry I've been gone! The good news is I have a new computer so I can take slightly less glitchy pictures and actually travel around SL without crashing every 2 seconds! This is so exciting!

On that note I did want to share an adorable find! All over the grid the stories of mesh are overflowing. This post will be no exception! I've mentioned Jane's goodies already!

Times are changing, Stores are closing

I don't do well with change. I dislike change in SL even more because when it's something is gone... well unless the designer sticks to the Marketplace then it's gone for good.

Two of my favorite stores will be closing their doors over the next few weeks.

Grixdale will be closing it's doors after August 31st. The store is currently selling all items for 100L and under so be sure to get in the goodies before they are gone!

Also sadly closing it's doors is Berries Inc.. You have until Sept 12th to grab all goodies prices at 50L before tier payments run out.

On a different note, if you haven't been to Jane then you need to scoot on over asap. I love the styles of clothing at Jane. Girly, classy and oh so cute. If you happen to use a viewer that supports mesh then you will be pleasantly surprised! Newly released are a few dresses and separates in her store for the mesh frenzy out there! Owner Janie Marlowe is also super interested in the way the new mesh is fitting those of us out there. If you aren't familiar with mesh, its a bit like system clothing in a way that it moves with us but looks like the primed clothes we are so familiar with. If you feel like skipping the glitch layers on a dress and jumping around, never fear mesh moves with you! The down side is that it does not make allowances for saddle bags, body fat , breasts and some other vital parts of us all. Thus why Janie is asking for feed back from us all! Go ahead and give it a go!

Warning: Mood overload

I woke up in a foul mood today. No actually, that is not true. I was pushed into a foul mood. I'm going to rant for a few minutes before I get to the actually pretties to show ya'll, kay?

1. We have new SL neighbors, who put in a giant stone mountain complete with water, tiki huts..oh yeah... and ban lines! SO now every time I sit at my cottage I see yellow flashing lines. PS. I live on a farming sim... I wasn't away stones, or beachy stuff were farmable.. maybe pet rocks but.. come on now. And these ban lines.. honestly do you think you are so all important that you have to ban everyone?! Because aside from eyeing up your ugly build.. no one cares.

2. Said neighbors: wandering all over my property. This I don't get. You ban everyone but think it's perfectly alright to fly up a couple thousand meters to hover ourside my sky boxes. Weirdo.

3. For the first time in a week it isn't raining in RL! This is actually a good thing.. except I'm supposed to be getting our front steps replaced..4 days ago. I was assured they would be done no later than the 12th. Guess what, it's closing in on Noon and not one worker is here. I have company coming next Wednesday,Thursday AND Friday. Oh and I'm supposed to be getting married on the 20th, so I'd like to be able to leave my home to get to said wedding.

Rawwwr! End rant! Now for the goodies! Yay! Thank you all for listening!

I've been part of the .: Give It Away :. group for a long time now. While many groups come and go on my list I've managed to hold onto this one. I like the idea behind it really. Within reason we as members as well as some designers offer items up for grabs in the group. For the most part it's the whole " one man's trash is another man's treasure" idea. Sometimes there are gifts or lucky chair calls, anything to help each other out. I'm totally digging helping and bartering lately.

Recently in the group one of our faithful members was kind enough to offer not one but TWO gifts to add to our wardrobes. I'll be honest. I'm often leery about clothing given out in groups not owned by a designer.. Sometimes things just don't live up to my expectations. I guess that's why it's okay that it's free though!

Color me surprised when I actually LIKED what was given! Though one outfit was more on the masculine side, I really adored the shorts and tank sets! I just had to show them off!!!

I like to think these are just two looks of a very diverse me!

Finally is you haven't heard of Mary Jane Shoes you probably live under a rock. few months ago I had the pleasure of helping creator and owner Infiniti Mirihi with her very first fashion show! I'm on a roll with the random things today! First of all, I earlier mentioned the week long event being held by Oh Boi! Magazine. I stopped in for a little while and it was pretty fab. Great music, cash prizes and so much more! It's definitely something worth checking out.

While I was wandering the sim I had the pleasure of meeting a new dancer from a SL dance troupe named "The Dramatiques". The 2 videos: Alice in Wonderland and Narnia were pretty amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing them perform live this Wednesday @ 2pm SLT! You can check out their wesite for more tours and dates!

Secondly, taking a slight step away from SL. My new friend also informed me of an awesome opportunity!

Stanford University is offering a free online course in Artificial Intelligence (AI) taught by Peter Norvig (Google's Director of Research and author of the classic AI textbook) and Sebastian Thrun (Stanford professor and winner of the DARPA Grand Challenge). The course is an experiment in an idea called "massive open online courses" where anyone with an Internet connection can take classes without paying tuition. The online course will run in tandem with the physical class from October to December with online students watching the same lectures, completing the same assignments, and taking the same exams as their Stanford counterparts. Online students will not receive credit or formal recognition from the university—but they will receive grades for their assignments and exams, and those who complete the course online will get certificates created by the professors. More than 8,000 people have already signed up for registration notification. The professors are recommending students buy the class textbook, which is co-written by Mr. Norvig, and dedicate at least 10 hours a week to the course, which Stanford considers an intermediate-level class that requires some mathematical and programming knowledge. Online enrollment ends Sept 20th and a certificate is being provided upon successful completion of the course.

It sounds like a very interesting experience for anyone who likes to explore new learning experiences. Best of all it's free! While there is no college credit received for those not enrolled at Stanford, it still seems really interesting!

Oh Boi! Magazine is pleased to announce its first major advocacy event Oh Boi! The EVENT Aug. 7-14. The EVENT aims to raise awareness of the lesbian, gay, and transgender (LGBT) community, specifically to raise awareness surrounding the discrimination against the bois of Second Life --- real life females living their Second Life as masculine/male avatars –- who face discrimination not only in the LGBT community, but the larger Second Life community as a whole.

“Though openly hostile comments are uncommon, we still come across attitudes that hint at a subtler form of bigotry,” Oh Boi Editor-in-Chief Adrianne Sautereau said. “Sadly, this passive discrimination is also present in the LGBT community. Before the rest of the world can accept us for who we are, we need to learn how to be more accepting. It has to start with us.”

SL Sartorialist- Shape up or Ship out

It's here! Finally!! I decided it would be a good time to start out my SL Sartorialist piece here on the blog. For those who aren't familiar, I wrote a monthly piece in Pure Magazine. I took my cue from RL Sartorialist - Scott Schuman who started his blog to show pictures of people he stumbled upon on the streets that he thought looked amazing. While I wanted to show pieces of clothing and trendy fashionistas out there I also wanted to take my own spin on things. In the past I chose an overall theme of something that inspired me for the month and ran with it. I've also offered my own fashion opinions and the do's and don't I live by! We'll see exactly how this pans out here!!

I'm sad to say my side kick Winter will not be following me into the blogging world so if you ever see someone or something you thing should be seen feel free to email it to me or send it in in-world!!

TO start out fresh and new I'm beginning this adventure with shapes! Despite being unable to change shape in RL (without cosmetic surgery and hours at the gym!) we are lucky enough to be able to adjust ourselves in SL with sliders. With that in mind I find myself amazed at the good, the bad and the just plain wrong shapes I've encountered throughout my years in SL. I've had every shape out there so I don't believe you have to be stick skinny and 6 feet tall to be amazing... Checcck it out!

Unfortunately one of the most common things you will see in SL are shapes in need of severe help. Too often our shapes are out of proportion and end up looking like a big old hot mess.

Proportions:

When making any shapes in SL or buying them it's important to look at the over all effect. I myself have been the victim of this mismatched shape. Often I'll find a skin I love, work an amazing face around it only to realize afterwards that I look like I've photo shopped a different head on my body.

When trying to make that perfect you, take the time every few steps to cam out and look at the overall effect. If you couldn't imagine it in RL it's probably not going to be so great in SL either. Adding on sculpted parts is one of the fads out there but those triple E boobs are better left if your inventory!

Skins:

I won't preach too much about skins but I do believe skins play a big part in the way out shapes turn out. Not all skins or shapes are created equal. It's entirely normal to have to tweak a shape when trying different skins. What looks great with that Belleza skin might not be so great with League skins.

(Believe it or not but this is the same shape with 3 different skins. As you can see all three are pretty skins, but they don't all work for the same shape)

Also keep in mind the age range you are going for. If you are playing a child avatar or even a young teen skins loaded with makeup, and adult shading are just not going to work. The same goes for anyone playing with sizes, if the skin ends up looking stretched out it's probably time to swap skins or tweak that shape!

What to wear:

Whether you are big and beautiful or petite and pixie-like I am a true believer in paying attention to how you dress. Just like skins not all system or prim clothing is created equal in SL.

Home is Where the Heart is

If you know me in SL then you know I never stick to land or a house for very long. I despise rude neighbors, ugly build and lag. I've had my fair share of all of it. In fact I had a combo of all three when I inadvertently moved onto an amazing property that was once home to a Gorean shop and hangout. siiigh.

With that being said I love the currently land we live on. Paradise World Estates is one of the better locations we've chosen. The lag is minimal considering we own a plot on a farming sim, the prims are worth the price and the management is quick to help.

I also decided to downgrade from our big old house to a much smaller scale. For the most part we keep out separate horse farms up high but we still like to leave the ground looking pretty for when we have friends visit or we happen to sell something! Check out this adorable cottage I picked up at the Super Bargain Weekend sale!!

Sorry for the ugly. I was feeling too lazy to fight with GIMP but I did want to take the time to show you all the cuteness! It was only 60L and has so many cute details. I've always wanted a roof top deck so I was super excited!

LOTD- July 28th- Addiction

I have an addictive personality. If it looks good, smells good, tastes good or is just plain interesting I gotta have it/ do it. Take books for example. I spent most of my childhood with my nose buried in books thanks to my mom's obsessive reading habits. As I got older we bonded over shared books and stories together. She's been gone almost 2 years now (wow 2 years...man) and I'm still an addict for books.

As money got tighter I hung up my habit of getting books straight of the shelf in lue of checking books out from the library. With my 8+ books a week habit I suspect that they whisper about me behind my back!

This picture ties in a lot of my addictions. Nostalgia, books and free awesome clothing!

All clothes worn are from the generous gift Aikea Rieko from [The Plastik] this past Monday the 25th. Instead of receiving gifts and kind words on her RL birthday she was so sweet to see her adoring customers received something special! All you have to do is join the group (which is free!) and look in past notices! This goodie bag is jam packed with skins, dresses, separates and more!

Also if you are a reading nut like me you need to check out the Rockcliffe University library and Reference Center inworld. I had the pleasure of meeting a RL librarian who works for this inworld setup. You'll see new and past issues of well known magazines. Overwhelmed but up for a Challenge

Sometimes my brain just can't handle everything that get thrown at it. I'm juggling so much in my RL and have far too many amazing things to show you all in SL. INstead of sitting down and getting it all under control I decided to go peeping for a new blogger challenge. Yay for me I found one! I'm starting a week late but that's not so bad!

The newest blogger challenge I have decided to partake in is the: Blog Hero Challenge Week 2: Don't Fear the Reaper.

The idea behind the challenge is that the amazing Shayariel Teardrop picks lyrics for a song weekly and we get to do our own photo representation of said lyrics. It can be a scene, artistic view... whatever pleases you! You can check out her first week -here- where she explains about it in a bit more detail!

I tried to play around with Gimp a bit on this but I'm really not so good at it...

Formal Complaint

When you are new or even just low on fund like me, finding good quality formal wear takes time and a bit of hunting. If it were not for the generosity of some amazing formal wear designers a lot of us would be walking around in hand me downs and badly textured trends from 2006!

I make it a habit to grab any good quality formal dress I find because you never know when you have a red carpet worth event to strut for! I was lucky enough to find a fantastic dress today for only 1L and I also have been saving one look just for this occasion!

If you happened to read back a bit I showed you the upper part of Gizza's male anniversary gift. This gorgeous creation is it's female counterpart! The details on this dress are amazing quality. The sexy slit, delicate floral and lace details are one of the best quality gifts I've found in a very long time. Both the gown and the male tuxedo are group gifts that you can get -Here! There are also tons of other free group gifts around as well!!

The second lucky find was this pink vintage gown. I love the soft flowy feeling of this dress so so much! ViLada is a new store to me. I'm sure a lot of you have already passed through but this was my first time finding this store. Imagine my excitement when I found she was offering this gorgeous confection for only 1L for a limited time only!! If you aren't into gowns there is also a group gift set along the wall behind this gown!

With these two gowns as a starting off point there is no reason anyone should remain formally unfashionable!!

Hey guys and gals! I'm trying really really hard to get something amazing out to you all asap! However it seems that LL forced me to update my current V2 viewer and I have yet to find another viewer that supports everything I love and want. I know, I'm spoiled!

So for now I am totally unable to get on as the new V2 viewer causes me to crash repeatedly and the other viewers don't seem to like me much either! SIngularity doesn't support multi layer.. at least not the version I have.. Kirsten's viewer has a major rendering issue that made all my sculpties look like crumbled metal and killed seamless textures so that my skin looked like I had random rope burns on the seems. I'm going to give Phoenix a go now and hope for the best!

Suggestions in this area are ALWAYS welcome as I tend to stick to a viewer until it dies or gets taken away. I'm not up on all the ones out there!

LOTD- July 25th - Rain Over Me

I'm trying to stay calm cool and collected about this whole wedding ordeal but I'm failing miserably. As I mentioned this is the first supposedly SMALL wedding for legal purposes. Somehow my group of 10 has morphed into 30. yeah. so...STRESS.

With that in mind after a long and harrowing phone conversation with my dad I ended up listening to the new Pit bull and Marc Anthony song on repeat. I don't want to like it but I do for some reason. Weird.

My LOTD felt inspired by rainy days which is fitting as it has to do with not only the song but the current weather outside my little window. Check it out!

Project Themeory this week tied in perfect with how I was feeling. I love the jewelry from Willow and these rain drop necklaces were so affordable (75L for 2) that it was impossible to pass up! Yay for good deals

Oh yeah. I also learned not to leave my avatar unattended. I was looking for a good rainy or flooded location to show off my cute boots. However during tp my honey came home for lunch so I just left myself wherever I landed... I came back to this:

I'm going to pick out the flowers for my wedding today. Or I guess I should say I'm going to pick out the flowers for my first wedding. Yes, you read that right. Somehow because of timing conflicts I am having two weddings. A small one now and a larger affair down the road when money, time and the correct location prevail. Sigh. I hate planning ONE wedding. I think I missed the wedding gene somewhere along the way. - save meeee o.O

Anywho I didn't want to leave you with nothing for today so lucky me I have some stuff for you guys!!

First off I wanted to share some exciting news. If any of you have read my 'SL Sartorialist' column you'll be happy to know I plan on moving a smaller probably more insane version of it here in the upcoming months. I do plan to keep it a once a month deal currently as it is a huge undertaking for me to be doing alone. We'll see how it goes. I'm hoping to make some changes along the way and really find my nitch with it. So yay!

And now for the LOTD goodies! I have SO many things I want to show you all and just a little bit of time to do it. Hopefully over the next few days I'll be able to sit down and show you all of the free, cheap and amazing things I've found!

This hair has become a new staple in my hair world. I love big floppy hats in SL because in RL they annoy the beejezus out of me; what with their flopping, blowing away or blinding me. This SL version is sweet and adorable. Better yet? It fit's amazingly well and the color is fantastic. Also it's hard to tell but the hat itself sports a peacock feather: Awesome!

It'sa me! I'll admit I've been sitting on this entry for a few hours now trying to come up with what exactly I wanted to say. I never realized how hard it was to talk about myself without sounding fake, conceited or even just silly. I followed in the footsteps of Harlow herself and chose a picture of something I remebered vividly. While the picture itself is just a simple close up cropped picture it does hold meaning for me. At the very moment this picture was taken my life changed, whether I realized it or not at the time.

On that day I met my other half. I took a deep breath and plunged head first into one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I am incredibly greatful for my ability to wear my heart on my sleeve and take risks. If I had been raised as a person who always did the safe thing and never went for what I wanted I would most certainly not be where I am today. I've always been someone who loves deeply and truly.

I've learned that while life may give you ups and downs most of the time they are stepping stones teaching us what we need to know for the rest of our lives.

Love yourself and love others. Sometimes nothing beats that. Thank you Harlow for giving us the chance to look deep into ourselves. Sometimes we spent so much time thinking about the bad things or others that we lose sight of what is most important.

I really need to get a life. Or at the very least, a job. I woke up this morning to the wonderful surprise of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake doing 'The History of Rap: Part 2'. I about peed my pants laughing. I ended up watching the first edition as well and I just can't decide which cracks me up more!

In a moment of total excitement I remembered I had received a free Dougie gesture a few weeks ago. It's a bit loud and obnoxious but if you are feeling in the mood to get down and boogie

Have you ever been trying on an outfit and had some odd flashback to a movie character? While trying on some of the adorable freeness I got over the weekend I was overcome with memories from the movie 'Clueless' circa 1995. I had this odd memory of Alicia Silverstone when she was trying to impress "Christian" (aka. RL actor Justin Walker). Perhaps it was a the hair combined with the dresses? Who knows.

It seemed fitting to channel a bit of old school "Cher"-the character not the singer!- into my LOTD.

This weekend has been busy for any of my thrifty friends out there! Hunts galore and a ton of awesome sales. As I mentioned in my last post there is a 3 day sale going on right now at Onyx Wear and all over the sim it resides on! I got some awesome makeups at V.E.L that I mentioned before so I thought I would show you my new favorite!! It's a bit different from my normal look but sometimes I need a change!

Squee! I love the dark details on this. It is one tattoo that covered the eyes nose and cheeks so you need not worry about using too many layers. This is great if you happen to use a viewer like Singularity that does not support multiple layer options.

No, I'm serious, it did! I swear!! I had this magical idea to cut back on the amount of random in my inventory by loading random objects in to boxes, poses into pose stands and lm's into notecards. Guess what? I have a #$%# ton of LM's that I now can't open because SL has decided to not respond to my pathetic clicking . FAIL.

So that's my somewhat excuse if I randomly tp into someones home, bed, office... whatever. I had a flash of someone screaming, " A dingo ate my baby!" creepy.

Anyways, enough blabbering. On the the good stuff! When it comes to most of my looks I tend to style the entire deal around one object or thought. I might see a RL look I like or find a shirt that absolutely needs a theme. When I found this amazing hair from Plume my brain went a little nuts with the possibilities. I debated between beachy or retro. Retro almost always wins in my book.

I am absolutely in love with this hair! It's fun and flirty for summer. I always worry about severe hair styles as it tends to make my face look square but this style is absolutely adorable!

If you love whimsical, fairy or just looking adorable you need to check out Angelwing! The store itself is mainly silks. However they do have some fantasy outfits as well as lucky boards strewn around!

The best part about this look is that it was entirely free! The outfit, wings, jewelry, skin and shape are a complete look from Angelwing!

It's a bit hard to tell but the skin itself is dotted with adorable freckles and sports some soft girly makeup! With the outfit came a matching set of heart earrings and necklace.
